Samsung Galaxy A13 vs Redmi 10C: Important aspects in the purchase decision

In this section, we will find out how the two models perform on the criteria that most influence the purchase decision:

Battery: capacity and fast charging.

If you think about how many hours a day you use your mobile phone, you will realise that you probably use it a lot. For this reason, the battery is another of the factors we tend to look at the most when buying a smartphone, as battery life depends on the capacity of the battery and the use we make of it.

In this case, our two protagonists have the same capacity, 5000 mAh. Therefore, the battery life is approximately the same in both cases. In addition, both smartphones have fast charging.

Display: resolution, format and size

The screen is the most important component in any smartphone, as it is the central element of the smartphone. And, in this respect, we note something curious: the model with the largest screen is not the one with the best resolution.

The Samsung Galaxy A13 has a 6.6-inch screen, slightly smaller than the 6.7-inch screen of the Redmi 10C. In terms of resolution, Samsung offers Full HD resolution (1080 x 2400 pixels), as opposed to the Redmi’s HD resolution (1650 x 720 pixels).

As we said, although the Samsung has a slightly smaller screen than the Redmi, we give it the win in this round. The reason is that we think the difference in resolution is more relevant than the difference in screen size, which is so small that it is barely noticeable. On the other hand, watching a film in Full HD+ is noticeable compared to watching it in HD.

Types of cameras: number and resolution

As you will see, the cameras are one of the biggest points of differentiation that Samsung offers compared to Xiaomi. The Galaxy A13 is equipped with four rear cameras, while the Redmi 10C only has two. Between them, the main camera in both phones has 50 MP.

The Samsung also has three more cameras (5 MP, 2 MP and 2 MP), while the Redmi has an additional 2 MP camera. And, if we look at the front camera, the Samsung Galaxy A13 achieves 8 MP, more than the 5 MP selfie camera on the Redmi 10C.

Performance: processor and memory

One of the differentiating factors is the processor, which is closely linked to the phone’s inner workings. The Galaxy A13 has the Exynos 850 processor, while the Redmi has the Snapdragon 680. They are different processors, but both are eight-core, which means the performance is very similar.

It’s worth noting that both smartphones have the same storage space: 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory, expandable to 1TB with a microSD card. Remember that, in both cases, you can opt for a model with a capacity of up to 128 GB, although they are more expensive.

However, there is one small difference: the operating system. In the case of the Samsung Galaxy A13, it is Android 12, while its rival has the Android 11 operating system. This reason, although the difference is not great, leads us to consider the Samsung as the better model.

Technology: contactless payments

Nowadays, we use our phones for almost everything. Even to pay. However, in order to do so, you need NFC (Near Field Communication) technology, which enables devices to make contactless payments without the need to present a physical credit card. Both the Samsung and Redmi smartphones are equipped with this technology.

Line of sight: weight and design

Design can often be a more important factor in the purchasing decision, especially when there are different colours to choose from. In this regard, it is worth noting that the Samsung Galaxy A13 is available in white, black and blue, while the Redmi 10C can be purchased in green, blue or grey.

Apart from this, there are not many other differences in terms of aesthetics. The Redmi’s screen is slightly larger, but the difference is hardly noticeable. In fact, we can say that they weigh practically the same, as the variation between the two smartphones is only 5 grams.

What are the individual features of each smartphone?

We have already generically analysed the performance of both in each purchase criterion, and now it is time to see how each differs:

1)Samsung Galaxy A13

The display is Infinity-V, has a size of 6.6 inches and Full HD+ resolution. This way, you can view all content in the same resolution as that of the most innovative models.

And, if we look at the processor, with eight cores, it provides a storage capacity of 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal memory. Of course, it can be expanded up to 1 TB with a microSD card. You can also choose the model that offers up to 128 GB, but the price is higher.

But we also highlight the smartphone’s good performance in aspects such as the cameras. It has a total of four rear cameras, of which the main one is 50 MP, which is not bad at all. In addition, it has three other cameras of 5, 2 and 2 MP. Not forgetting, of course, the selfie camera, with a resolution of 8 MP.

Finally, we look at the battery capacity of 5000 mAh, which can provide up to 22 hours of battery life. However, this depends a lot on how you use the phone, but if it runs out during the day, you’ll be interested to know that it supports fast charging. And as for the design, you can choose from three colours: black, white and blue.

2) Redmi 10C

The Redmi 10C has a battery that also has a 5000 mAh capacity, and supports fast charging, so in this respect, there is no difference compared to the Samsung. However, in the long run, the Samsung battery tends to maintain performance longer than the Xiaomi.

In this case, we see a Dot Drop screen, 6.71 inches in size. It has a reading mode and colour temperature adjustment, although the resolution, in this case, is HD. And, like its rival, you can also choose a 128GB model, in both cases expandable up to 1 TB with an external card.

In terms of cameras, there are a total of two rear cameras, a 50 MP main camera and a 2 MP depth camera, and a 5 MP front-facing camera. Additional features include a rear fingerprint sensor and a facial recognition unlocking system.

Three colours are available: green, blue and grey. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 680 processor, which gives it the capacity to store up to 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal memory.

Samsung or Xiaomi, which is better?

The smartphone that convinces us the most in this case is the Samsung Galaxy A13. It should be noted that, in terms of design, they are very similar, as is the price.

Therefore, the two aspects in which there may be a major subjective component are not decisive in this case. Technically, however, there are differences that make us opt for the Samsung model.

Its operating system is more up-to-date than that of the Redmi 10C. And in other aspects, such as the battery or the sensors, there are no differences between the two models. In fact, in the long term, the experiences we have had with Samsung batteries are somewhat better than those offered by Xiaomi batteries, although in both cases the performance is good.

The screen is another key element in this decision. The Samsung Galaxy A13 offers better resolution, which is Full HD, compared to the HD resolution of the Redmi 10C. It also has twice as many rear cameras as its rival, while the front also offers better resolution.

Ultimately, we’d go with Samsung’s smartphone, but you should know that either will meet your needs in a positive way.
