Before we start the review, let us warn you that each model has its own versions, which vary in both functionality and price. Some models, such as the Hoover H-Free 300 or 500, offer the Hydro version, which includes the scrubbing function. If you have pets at home, you may be interested in the Hoover H-Free 100, 200 or 500. However, there are also some with unique versions. This is the case of the Hoover H-Free 200 and its All Floors version; or the Hoover H-Free 500, the only one with WiFi connectivity.
How are the Hoover H-Free 100 Vs 200 Vs 300 Vs 500 cordless hoovers similar?
It should be noted that all four belong to the same product range, so it is not unusual to find similarities:
Versatility: cordless and handheld hoover
One of the great strengths of upright hoovers is that they can, for the most part, be converted into handheld hoovers. In the case of the Hoover H-Free, all of them have this option. This duality increases their efficiency, as it allows you to clean a greater number of surfaces: high areas, upholstery, cars, etc.
Battery life: 40 minutes
The battery life for all four models is within the usual average, ranging from 40 to 45 minutes. As you know, this may be reduced if you use the hoover in high intensity mode. One option is to purchase an extra battery, so that you always have one at your disposal. Also, you should know that the 200, 300 and 500 models have a quick charge option.
Multiple power levels
Being able to regulate the power intensity is key not only to save on your electricity bill, but also to maximise battery life. All four upright hoovers in the Hoover H-Free range have a suction power regulator, so you can choose the amount of power you need at any given time.
LED light on the brush
You may have found it difficult to see all the dirt and dust that has accumulated in the darkest corners. The Hoover H-Free solves this problem by incorporating LED lights in the main brush head. In addition, the Hoover H-Free 300 features a dual LED system, so it also offers this type of illumination in the handheld version.
Upright parking
If you don’t have a lot of storage space in your home, you’ll probably be interested to know that the four protagonists of our review have a “Park&Go” position, which allows them to stand upright if you have to interrupt cleaning momentarily. This functionality not only allows you to store them in less space, but is also very useful in immediate situations, such as if you have to answer a phone call.
Hoover H-Free 100 Vs 200 Vs 300 Vs 500: What are the differences?
The elements that most often help to compare the performance of hoovers are the differentials, and in the case of the Hoover H-Free range, these are the most salient:
Added functionalities: mopping, pets and WiFi
As we mentioned at the beginning of the article, Hoover H-Free vacuum cleaners have different alternatives and subcategories. Some have the Hydro version, which incorporates scrubbing functionality, while others are equipped with pet accessories. The Hoover H-Free 500 is the only one with WiFi connectivity.
Connectivity: mobile app
Of the four models reviewed, only the Hoover H-Free 500 can be synchronised with the Hoover Wizard mobile app thanks to WiFi connectivity, allowing you to configure the device directly via your smartphone.
Suction power: increasing
Suction power is directly related to the performance of the hoover, as it measures the amount of energy with which it absorbs debris. It is worth noting that Hoover has clearly improved in this respect, going from the maximum 6,500 Pascals offered by the Hoover H-Free 100 to the 15,500 Pascals of the Hoover H-Free 500. In between are the 200 and 300 models, with 9,500 and 12,500 Pascals respectively.
Tank: capacity and volume
Just as in the previous point we talked about an increasing evolution, the tank has experienced a decreasing evolution between the different models of the series. In other words, the Hoover H-Free 100 has the largest capacity tank (900 ml), followed by the 200 and 300 models (700 ml). Finally, the Hoover H-Free 500 has a tank of only 450 ml, half the volume of the 100 model.
What should you look for when choosing the best Hoover upright vacuum?
Upright hoovers offer some advantages that other types lack, but it is also important to know that not all of them are equally important for different users. Everyone has their own needs, but there are certain aspects that generally help to decide:
Suction power
You have already seen that the more advanced the series, the more suction power the hoovers offer. This aspect is directly related to their performance, but it is also one of the aspects that makes them more expensive. Therefore, try to find a balance if you do not have a very high budget.
Battery life
Cordless hoovers offer limited battery life. In this respect, the performance of the four models we have looked at in this review is similar. Our recommendation would be to opt for one of the three with a quick charge option.
Tank volume
The volume of the tank is important if your home is very large. In addition, most Hoovers, with the exception of the 500, have a very large tank capacity, so you won’t have to worry too much about emptying it every so often.
Flexibility and comfort
Manoeuvrability and ease of use are important in any hoover, but even more so in broom hoovers. The reason for this is that you are going to use them by weight, so the more ergonomic features they include, the more advisable it will be to use them.

Hoover H-Free 100 Vs 200 Vs 300 Vs 500: our verdict
We start from the assumption that any of the four Hoover H-Free we have analysed presents a fairly interesting quality-price ratio. In fact, the difference between the most expensive model and the cheapest one is not that wide, although it could widen depending on which version you choose. Overall, the Hoover H-Free 500 is the most sophisticated and complete model. It is the only one that can be synchronised with a mobile app and offers WiFi connection, but it is also the most expensive. It also has a disadvantage in that it has a smaller tank.
The most well-balanced hoover is perhaps the Hoover H-Free 300. It is not as expensive as the 500 model, but has some unique features, such as the dual dual lighting system. Very similar, but without this option, is the Hoover H-Free 200, which is slightly cheaper.
On the other hand, if you prefer a simpler, more budget-friendly model, the Hoover H-Free 100 is not a bad option. In fact, it has the largest tank of them all, and matches them in versatility and ergonomics. It is, however, less powerful. Think about what your main needs are so you know where to look most closely.
