How do they look?

We’re looking at two big phones, which is the trend nowadays. Starting with the Samsung Galaxy A72, it’s a 165 mm x 77,4 mm x 8,4 mm device that weighs 204 grams. This doesn’t differ that much from the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro, which weighs 193 g and measures 164 mm x 76,5 mm x 8,1 mm – a tiny bit smaller than its rival in this comparison.

You will find several colour options and a frameless screen, to increase its size and provide a more immersive experience. They also have a rounded body and rounded corners, which makes them great to hold and handle. For such big devices, they feel great in your hands.

Let’s look at the technical aspects

The main differences are here, in the technical parts, so have a look at how they function internally to find out which one is the perfect choice for you.

Processing power

Both phones use Qualcomm processors, which is already a guarantee of performance, but the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro uses an updated version, the Snapdragon 732G, while the Samsung Galaxy A72 uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G. These are great processors, perfectly fit for the price range where these smartphones are placed, but the Xiaomi has a small advantage in power and efficiency. As for the operating system, both use Android 11 with 4G capabilities.

How about memory?

This is a point where both devices tie. They come in two versions – 6 GB and 8 GB – for you to choose. But we have to say that the superior processor on the Redmi phone will manage the RAM better, which might give it a small advantage.

If we’re talking about internal memory, then the Samsung Galaxy A72 takes the top position, with its 128 GB and 256 GB versions, against the 64 GB and 128 GB versions of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro. You can also add an SD card on both phones, but while the Xiaomi is only compatible with 512 GB cards, the Samsung phone can take a 1 TB card, so there are no doubts here.

Image quality

The screen size on these smartphones is basically the same: 6,67” for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro and 6,7” for the Samsung Galaxy A72, both with AMOLED technology. They also share the same screen resolution: 2.400 x 1.080 on both devices. The differences are only noticeable when we talk about the refresh rate: 120 Hz for the Xiaomi and 90 Hz for the Samsung. This means that the screen moves faster and more fluidly on the Xiaomi. As for protection, they’re both equiped with the Gorilla Glass 5, a chemically reinforced cristal that helps to avoid scratching and other damage.

Camera

It’s hard to choose a winner if we only look at the cameras. While the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro has the quadruple camera system, the Samsung Galaxy A72 has the Quad Cam and a quadruple system as well, but the cameras differ.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro

Main lens – 108 MP

Wide lens – 8 MP

Macro lens – 5 MP

Depth sensor – 2 MP

Samsung Galaxy A72

Main lens – 64 MP

Wide lens – 12 MP

Macro lens – 5 MP

Depth sensor – 5 MP

And if you’re concerned about selfies, you should know that the Samsung has a 32 MP front camera, much better than the Xiaomi’s 16 MP.

Battery

The Samsung Galaxy A72 has a 5000 mAh battery and 25W fast charging, but the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro is a bit better, with 5020 mAh, more autonomy and faster charging, with 33 W.

Price

The Samsung Galaxy A72 is the more expensive of the two, because it’s from Samsung and because it has a great set of features that is more complete than the Xiaomi’s phone. But the Redmi has a better price-quality relationship, besides being much cheaper.

Our verdict: Should you buy the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro or the Samsung Galaxy A72?

After checking all the features on these smartphones, we might have to declare this a draw! Both have amazing characteristics, and while one takes the lead in certain aspects, the other is best in other things, so the choice will probably boil down to personal preference and to your specific needs.

Let’s talk about the Samsung Galaxy A72. This is a really good smartphone that delivers great performance and outshines the Redmi Note 10 Pro in ROM capacity, secondary cameras, especifically the wide lens, the depth sensor and the front camera. It is, nontheless, inferior in most other aspects when compared to the Xiaomi model.

The Chinese brand has created a fantastic device, especially for its price. The main camera has 108 MP, which is amazing, and it carries a better updated processor that makes it faster than the Samsung phone. All in all, this phone has greater speed and better technical features, which makes it perfect for professional use, gamers and video consumers.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 is probably one of the best phones out there when it comes to price-quality relationship, but the Samsung Galaxy A72 won’t be disappoint you.
